Mickey Strand is a local U.S. Navy Veteran and Combat Photographer. He served on active duty for 24 years and is working on photographing portraits of World War II and Korean War Veterans and collecting their stories and memories for future generations. The veterans receive a printed image of their session at no cost to them.

The photo above is of Honor Flight San Diego alum and Navy Veteran Joe Renteria. Joe was Admiral Halsey’s staff photographer in WWII and was photographed by Mickey.
